Glencoe, Sunday 29th December 2013

First day of the 13/14 season at Glencoe. Tons of snow had arrived in the storms at Christmas. Unfortunately this had damaged the Cliffy chairlift and buried the Main Basin tbar. So no uplift to the top. This also meant the queues were pretty bad. Loads of people were up since it was the first day with no storm force winds.
A word of warning. Even if you cycle to work every day, it’s not a guarantee your muscles will like the first day of snowboarding. I did make my first run down the canyon and found my legs were struggling. I took a few stupid falls, the first at speed. Decided to take it a bit easier after those. Going to need to work out I think and maybe a splash of yoga!
