Day 8 of Scottish Season 15/16. I tried to make an early start after being out the evening before, then putting together a small graphic for next weeks Instameet #scotskimeet2016. Waking at 5:30, I think it was closer to 8:00 by the time I was on the move. There was some snow falling at Chrianlarich which continued up into Rannoch Moor. A nice little top up for the ski hill.
The car park looked pretty rammed as I arrived around 10:00. The queue for hire equipment looked horrendous, but this is all good for the centre. Half term means it’s been busy all week not just this Saturday.
The snow was nice. Wind blown in Main Basin and extra fluffy down Spring Run. The visibility came and went with cloud base just skimming the tops of the mountains. Temperatures were pretty cold too.
Despite the wonderful snow conditions and wide cover, and the full car park, the summit lifts were comparatively quiet. Barely a queue formed and it wasn’t long before I had quite a tally of laps in.
Hopefully the snow will stick around. More fell as I left the hill, boding well for our Instagram meet next week.
We hope to gather some of Scotland’s favourite grammers for the #scotskimeet2016 and bag some nice images of the day. Fingers crossed for fair weather and visibility! I covered last year’s here.
