For the past couple of seasons, attended the Upbattle Demo Weekends at Glencoe Mountain as a keen enthusiast. But this year? I got a call from Jonny, the mastermind behind the event, asking if I would capture it all on video. No brainer—I was up for it!

The forecast looked promising; all we needed was for the mist to lift. The Upbattle crew got everyone kitted out with gear from TSA, and the team was on hand to answer all the burning questions. Once everyone was strapped in with skins on, we set off on a mellow tour—just enough to give folks a feel for kick-turns and the art of uphill shuffling.

Lesley from Wandering Workshops was, as always, a goldmine of knowledge, sharing her expertise on all things touring as we made our way up. After lunch, with everyone off testing their boards, we regrouped for a crash course in avalanche safety—covering the basics of transceiver use, shovels, probes, and other essential tools of the trade.

The turnout was fantastic, the stoke levels were high, and we may have even converted a few newcomers to the joys (and leg burn) of earning their turns.
Big shoutout to Jonny, Lesley, and the rest of the crew for putting on such an epic demo! Fingers crossed the weather gods deliver for round two at Cairngorm. If you’re curious about splitboarding, be sure to check them out!

Also, a huge thanks to Ski and Boardroom for keeping my splitboard in top shape—your tuning skills are next level!
Here is the promo I shot and edited (including title).
