I took the day off work—because when the forecast looks decent, you’ve got to make the most of it! Blue skies were on the cards, but snow conditions? Still pretty lean. The mid-mountain had a decent amount open, though with some icy patches to keep things interesting. I set off on the splitboard, aiming for […]

Soft Sunday
A short but sweet Sunday at Glencoe! Warm temps meant softer snow—way more fun than yesterday’s refrozen runs. Slushy spring vibes down Mugs Alley, a blast through The Canyon, and finally got back onto The Wall now that it wasn’t rock solid. Just as I was wrapping up, the Wall T-bar kicked in, so I had to grab one last lap.
Familiar Faces
The freeze-thaw cycle made for firm groomers, with Rankin’s Return and Mugs Alley riding well. Less busy than Friday, but plenty of familiar faces out enjoying the turns. As the mist rolled in, I called it early—saving the legs for Sunday, when we should see a little fresh snowfall.
Friday Clarity
Friday shred at Glencoe! A fresh dusting of snow, moody skies, and surprisingly great visibility made for an epic day on the mountain. Best turns? The Wall in the morning and some fast carving under the Rannoch Chair. Not the lightest snow, but still an absolute blast! Hoping for more laps this weekend before the weather changes.
Sorry Glencoe
It’s not cheating if we’re on a break. Sorry Glencoe, but with now snow in the west I had to up-sticks and head east to make the most of some recent snowfall.
I left Glasgow super early and arrived in the car park at Cairngorm Mountain by 8am.
The Gathering
Poor conditions prevail and the guys at Glencoe along with Snowpark Scotland, pulled a freestyle park together on the sledging slope for The Gathering. On the upper mountain Main basin continues to be the largest area on snow on the hill.
Lucky for Some
Day 10 for me snowboarding at Glencoe.
Things were starting to look desperate on the mountain regarding snow cover. I had friends visiting with their kids and some had very little experience on snow. Hw would they get on?
