We Back

The first dose of the Coe in 2025 after a week away on the sunny groomers in Flaine, France. The latest storm system had brought in a good dump of snow. Much needed to restart the season at Glencoe Mountain. All lower lifts were eventually running through the day.

Snow down to Carpark level

I had turned up with my splitboard, but didn’t even pull out the skins. Walking from the top of the cliffy to the Wall was enough to keep me satisfied. The thick chalky powder made for great turns down the wall and back to the Cliffy. Thrombosis and the chairlift run under the Cliffy as well as the Canyon were the other places to be. it was great to have a day of grippy wind packed powder snow.

I had all my touring gear with me. The only time I used it was to bust out the avi shovel. I helped a family dig out the toboggans for their kids at the sledging slope. It would have been rude not to make use of the groomed Mugs Alley, so I did a run down there, just to be polite. Lots of hard work had gone in to getting the carpark and the hill ready after the earlier storm.

Finally I took the return from the top of the Rannoch chair which was seeing a lot of use as I made my way to the access chair.
Looks like a bit more snow tonight, and I wish I could head up for a Monday slide, but I have other matters to attend to. Fingers crossed this is the start of something good.
A big thank you to Ski and Boardroom for their service support for the season. You must check them out at their store in Patrick.
